Kim Kardashian, Kourtney, Jessica Alba and Victoria Beckham’s Secret Skincare Weapon: LED Light Masks!
The hottest stars are relying on this at home skincare obsession!
What is an LED light mask Celebs are raving about?
An LED mask is a non-invasive light therapy suitable for all skin types, which is made up of three Near-Infrared lights - not UV rays - that help to support the ageing process to combat wrinkles, hydration and firmness.
The Red Light Masks has been gaining popularity since celebrities like Kourtney Kardashian, Jessica Alba, Serena Williams and Victoria Beckham have been posting their at home light therapy mask session on instagram.
Explaining the impact of the beauty tool on Kardashian’s lifestyle website, it states: “LED stands for light-emitting diode, meaning it pushes the energy and power of the light in one direction—at your skin.
“The colours we see, whether it’s red light or blue light, are produced by different wavelengths. Red has a longer wavelength than blue light.”
Red Light Therapy, which Kardashian relies on, has a number of settings, all of which have different benefits.
The red light treats the outer layer of the skin - known as the epidermis - as the light stimulates collagen, which helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
While the blue light is best suited for those with acne-prone skin, as the light targets sebaceous oil glands to destroy any bacteria that causes breakouts, as well as reduce scarring.
There is also an amber light, which protects the skin and reduces the appearance of brown age spots and melasma.
But Kardashian mostly relies on the red and blue settings. The site reads: “Kourt loves the red and blue light the most. Since she’s added this ritual to her self-care routine, it’s been life-changing for her skin.”
Kris Jenner’s oldest daughter is not the only celebrity to use LED face masks, as Victoria Beckham, January Jones, Kate Hudson and Chrissy Teigen are among other famous faces to use the prop.

How Does Red Light Therapy Work?
Red light was first used by researchers to grow plants in space. They found that red light-emitting diodes (LEDs) helped promote photosynthesis of plant cells. Soon thereafter, red light was tested for its potential effects on human cells. And the results were remarkable!
Scientists discovered that red light produces a biochemical effect, imbuing cells with energy-carrying molecules to help them rejuvenate, repair damage, and function more efficiently. Since those early experiments in space, there have been hundreds of clinical studies and thousands of lab tests conducted to determine what other medical benefits could come from red light therapy.
Today, red light therapy is employed as a therapeutic technique to treat wrinkles, scars, sagging skin, and persistent wounds, as well as other, more serious conditions like joint, tendon and muscle pain, psoriasis, and even the debilitating side-effects of chemotherapy!
